Hobbs Hairdressing - Food For Thought Seminar Flyer

Food For Thought Seminar Flyer

Following the success of the Experience More flyer which went down well with the client the flyer for the Doug Hobbs "Food For Thought" seminar was commissioned.

The brief for these flyers was that they should follow the theme of food and resemble the style of a modern, stylish, minimal menu.

Having researched menus from various restaurants a proposed design was decided upon that took into account the style of the Hobbs Hairdressing salon which features a lot of glass.

Since the brief was for a minimal, clean, simple design, the typographics would need to become a focus of the design and the heading type uses coloured shadows to make the letters look translucent, reflecting the use of glass in the salon and making the type stylish without detracting from its legibility.

As with all design it was important to make the theme relevant to the subject matter. The graphic of the plate with scissors and comb brings together images of a hair salon with those of a restaurant, the scissors and comb representing a knife and fork on the plate.

The lemon is also a crossover point between hairdressing and food as it is not only used in cookery but can also be used for bleaching hair.
